The Youth Golf Excellence Programme
Project Overview
The Youth Golf Excellence Programme is a structured after-school development initiative based in Moletsane, Soweto, designed to provide young people with a safe, consistent environment during high-risk hours. Using golf as a platform, the programme combines weekly coaching, life-skills development, and mentorship to support positive behaviour change, build confidence, and expand future opportunities. The current pilot cohort is being expanded to reach 60 school learners over a 24-month period, with a minimum of 50% female participation, ensuring inclusive access to sport and development pathways that are typically unavailable in township communities.
